Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She is co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a philanthropist and author television host, and proprietor of the independently liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. She was born in Greece and moved to England at age sixteen. Then, at Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA of Economics. At 21 she became president of the well-known debating group The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student to do so. She joined the conservative syndicated writer after graduation and, when The Huffington Post launched a couple of years afterwards, she was able to create an online platform for voice that included criticisms about political events. It was possible for her to recruit several notable contributors to post their views on culture and political issues. Arianna gained fame following her decision to run as independently in the California recall election, to take over the Governor Davis. The project she headed was an Detroit automobile project that was fuel efficient. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as the most influential women in media. She was ranked 12th spot on the list. The same year, Guardian placed her in their top 100 list of media. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she became president of this group of media. This included many AOL properties of the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos the journalist who also works as a management consultant. Although she was close to her father it was her bond with her mother that shaped her character. Even during her formative time, she showed the qualities of a leader for which are still in high demand. At 16 years of age she moved to the United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she was a member of the college debate group Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. In 1972she received a Masters in Economics. She worked as a music critic as well as a host on TV and as a columnist shortly after her graduation. Also, she appeared on the series Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books taking editorial help from the latter.
