Taylor
Taylor Swift was a rarity in the world of pop music: she was the only superstar to have crossed from country into the mainstream and become an international icon of pop culture. Swift removed herself from country music as if she was a second skin and proved she had the finest pop sensibility in her time. Swift was the only musician/singer to follow the zeitgeist of popular music when she went on tour. The first songs she released like the Neotribute for Tim McGraw were a testament of her ability. The second album Fearless from 2008 showed the songwriter finding her voice, and also a larger fan base. Fearless became a massive success not just in America, where six of its singles were declared platinum, on top of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and You Belong with Me. But the album also enjoyed a great reception across all over the world. Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago consolidated her previous success, and catapulted the singer into superstardom. The popularity of Swift only grew over her next three albums - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) as well as Reputation (2017) and Reputation in 2017 which saw her move into the realm of pop that she had already been a part of. She stayed in the forefront of pop even after she changed her style with her sibling albums Folklore and Evermore in 2020.
